My very first school was De Beauvoir, near Dalston Junction. I didn’t stay here long, and my memories of it are pretty hazy. I can just about remember being forced to take a Cod Liver Oil capsule and then spewing up all over the playground, but that’s just about it.
In truth, I don’t know why I went to De Beauvoir, because my next school, St. Jude’s, was much closer to home. In fact, there was a back door from one of the cloakrooms that was directly opposite our house in Queen Margaret’s Grove.
After St. Jude’s, I went to Highbury County.
